Last Day To Add Your Name in Support of OUTA Against Eskom Secrecy

Eskom

Eskom is requesting exemption from transparency regulations in upcoming electricity tariff hike negotiations.

Eskom wants exemption from the following disclosure requirements:

  • Details of the regulatory asset base or, in layman’s terms, Eskom’s asset register.
  • Research costs.
  • Coal volumes burnt per power station per supplier.
  • Coal handling costs per station.
  • Water procurement costs per station.
  • Water treatment costs.

The organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA) believe Eskom is attempting to hide maladministration or probable corruption and will be presenting their case to the National Energy Regulator (NERSA) on 18 May 2017. The presentation needs to show evidence of public outrage by including a list of as many names as possible. Add your name by completing the form on the OUTA website here! View full presentation to NERSA.
