Sea Shack is located in a serene bay nestled in the wild West Coast seas within the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, just 5km from the popular fishing village of Paternoster. This intimate eco-friendly seaside retreat focuses on sustainable living in harmony with nature.
The most charming little Sea Shacks have been created to accommodate guests within an idyllic and tranquil setting. Sea Shack offers a comfortable “glamping” experience as close to nature as possible.
All rates include daily entry fee into the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve for the duration of your stay.
ECO-FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATION PATERNOSTER
The 10 wooden shacks can accommodate 2 people with either queen or twin beds, fitted with high quality linen. These charming cabins have been uniquely themed to their name by the renowned artist, Theo Kleynhans. There are also 3 tents with stretch beds available.
The 4 shared ablutions each consist of an eco-toilet, urinal, hand basin and gas heated shower. There is a lovely Boma, an ideal social and relaxation area. There is also a shared, well-equipped kitchen for guests use.
It is important to note that as Sea Shack is off-the-grid and that here is no wi-fi however, there is a reliable cell phone signal on site and there are solar powered facilities for guests to charge their phones and other electronic devices.Check Availability & Book Online
Kick your shoes off and put your feet up, relax with a book and enjoy the tranquility at Sea Shack. You can wonder along the many paths, rock pools, dunes, and boulders of this rugged coastline exploring beautiful Cape Columbine Nature Reserve. Be sure to visit the Cape Columbine Lighthouse and the picturesque bay of nearby Tietiesbaai.
The West Coast offers a plethora of activity; you can bring you surfboard, diving gear, hiking boots, bicycle or fishing rod to take advantage of the Atlantic ocean, pristine beaches and nearby dirt tracks.
Paternoster is only 5km away where you can book plenty of other adventures, visit the quaint village stores and galleries and enjoy a meal at one of the excellent restaurants.

The owner of Sea Shack has a deep and profound love of nature and has created this eco-friendly lodge to allow people to experience the beauty and tranquility of the area.
As part of Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, Sea Shack is committed to the conservation of the natural environment, education and to rehabilitate previously damaged areas.
There is a sound recycling program in place where all glass, paper, plastic and tin are separated and taken to the designated drop off in Paternoster.
All cleaning at the Sea Shack is done using environmentally-friendly, biodegradable, non-toxic cleaning products.
Guests are requested to bear in mind the eco-friendly nature of Sea Shack and are thus requested to bring environmentally-friendly body products.
As this area is very dry the 10 little shacks were designed in a simplistic and eco-friendly way so that the roofs provide dew/water run off for the indigenous gardens below. To further conserve water, eco-toilets have been installed which do not use any water.
Sea Shack is off-the-grid; the geysers are heated with gas; as is the stove and oven. All other power at Sea Shack comes from the sun though their solar power systems.
