Onder die Milkibar is a beautiful, off-the-grid guest farm located in the delightfully unique Klein Karoo village of VanWyksdorp.
Nestled in the Rooiberg Mountains on the Grootrivier, the town is 55 km south-east of Ladismith and 66 km north-east of Riversdale; 30 km turn off from the scenic Cape Route 62.
ECO-FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATION VANWYKSDORP
There are 2 charming stone cottages in this beautiful natural setting. Each has a bathroom with shower (gas geyser), 1 double bed, 3 single beds and a sleeper couch.
There are gas cooking facilities in the well-equipped kitchen, as well as a Solar fridge, a little dining nook, lounge area and lovely stoop and braai facilities from where you can enjoy the night sky.
Activities include bird watching, walks in the mountains, hiking and bicycle trails, and swimming in the river.

Onder die Milkibar doesn’t just recycle, but also upcycle by using waste materials for arts and crafts on the farm. They also compost their organic waste.
Guests are provided with divine soaps that are all made from natural, local ingredients – all organic and cruelty-free.
Should catering be requested; guests can be assured of fresh local fruits, veg and free-range eggs.
To conserve water the guest farm uses borehole water responsibly, harvests rain water and encourages indigenous flora through active replanting efforts.
Solar power is used to power up the energy efficient appliances and couple of lights in the stone cottages which were all built out of this local natural material.
