Leopard Mountain Game Lodge is an award-winning 4 Star lodge located high up in the wild secluded hills of the 23 000ha Manyoni Private Game Reserve (formerly known as Zululand Rhino Reserve), 50km from Hluhluwe in KwaZulu Natal.

The 9 well-appointed, luxurious stone and thatch chalets are perched on a cliff top offering the most breathtaking views over this picturesque landscape. Each spacious chalet is perfectly furnished and warmed with elegant African décor.

A TYPICAL LEOPARD MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE
A typical day at Leopard Mountain begins with a good cup of coffee and some traditional South African rusks while the last of the nocturnal sounds start to fade before embarking on your first game drive with a knowledgeable guide. For a more interactive and unforgettable safari experience, guest can book a Guided Walking Safari.
A delectable breakfast awaits you back at the lodge, after which you can enjoy a leisurely morning at your own pace. Guests can opt to join a ranger for a mid-day Waterhole experience, relaxing in the hide, observing an array of wildlife.
For lunch guests can build their own picnic basket from a delectable selection of salads, pates, cold meat and crudités which can be enjoyed on the main lodge deck, around the bird pond or on your private balcony. This is also a great time to be pampered at the tranquil Africology Spa.
After an early afternoon tea on the deck you will set off with your guide to explore some different areas on the Reserve. During this drive you will be treated to sundowners while watching the African sun set over the mountains and bushveld and hear the sounds of the wild, perhaps even the distant roar of lions.
On return to the lodge, you can freshen up before enjoying a delicious 4 course boma feast under the stars, paired with hand selected wines. After dinner one can relax around the bonfire and share stories of the days exciting wildlife encounters.
Regrettably children under the age of 12 cannot be accommodated, however, children 12 years and over may partake in the full itinerary.
CONSERVATION FEES: Only by contributing to conservation can funds be raised to help save the reserve’s endangered species such as Black Rhino, White Rhino, Wild dog, Ground Horn Bill, Red Billed Ox-pecker, Leopard Tortoise and many more. A conservation fee of R50 per person per night is payable on departure from Leopard Mountain Game Lodge. All funds derived from this fee go to conserving the Manyoni Private Game Reserve Fauna & Flora and is essential in preserving the wildlife heritage of our reserve for future generations.

Leopard Mountain Game Lodge is situated within the Manyoni Private Game Reserve, as such they share in the Reserve`s mission to conserve the biodiversity, promote conservation and to ensure the sustainable use of consumptive and non-consumptive resources.
In terms of waste management; all paper, plastic, tin and glass are separated and given to a local recycling business. Organic waste is collected by another local to feed to his pigs.
All guest amenities and Spa products are sourced from companies that offer natural, bio-degradable and cruelty free products ensuring that they are kind to you and the environment.
In an effort to conserve the precious water resources, the lodge has an indigenous garden which is watered in the early morning or evening using grey water from the laundry. In order to reduce energy consumption, gas geysers have been installed at the lodge.
Leopard Mountain has partnered with and supports Zululand Rhino Reserve’s community development initiatives. Together they sourced the funding and labour to build a much needed crèche for the local community. They have developed an environmental education program that has benefited underprivileged schools from impoverished villages.
Their Local Schools Gone Wild program give local rural schools surrounding the reserve unique environmental education whereby the pupils are taken out of the class room to join the reserve’s game capture team on a rhino dart, gaining hands on experience. Leopard Mountain Game Lodge also supports and staff volunteer at the annual Rhino Ride, a mountain biking event that raises funds for Zululand Rhino Reserve Foundation.
