The Kogman & Keisie Guest Farm is nestled between the charming village of Montagu in the Klein Karoo and the mountains of Montagu Nature Reserve. Montagu is a popular destination on Route 62, the scenic meandering route between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. The farm`s name was inspired by the dramatic, rock strewn, Cogmans Kloof Valley and the modest Keisie River that meet here.
Kogman and Keisie is a working organic farm with olive trees, a small vineyard and a few well behaved farm chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits, a handful of sheep, various birds, dogs and cats. They also grow seasonal heirloom vegetables, various herbs and fruit trees.
On hot summer days visitors can cool down in the swimming pool or wait for the supreme Karoo night sky. In winter, keep cozy and warm and witness the sun colouring the early morning mist with an array of orange, pink and yellows.

KOGMAN & KEISIE GUEST FARM: GREEN ACTS FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM
Recycling, Green cleaning, Local & Organic, Responsible body products, Water-wise practices, Sustainable energy acumen, Land rehabilitation, Conservation.
Kogman & Keisie Guest Farm has taken a holistic and natural approach to farming and gardening. They apply organic solutions to many of the common farming or gardening problems and pests. They practice seasonal and companion planting, crop rotation and permaculture principles. Naturally, all meals are made using fresh organic produce and free range eggs from the farm, supplemented by locally sourced, responsible ingredients.
All glass, paper, tin and plastic are recycled; and all organic waste is composted, further enriching the soil.
Eco-friendly cleaning products are used where possible at Kogman & Keisie and they manufacture their own organic range of luxurious body products.
Although there is an abundance of water that Kogman & Keisie can draw from the Br ede River, their borehole and windmill; they still aim to conserve this precious resource and be water-wise. They have installed dual flush toilets, reduced-flow shower-heads and make use of water-saving drip irrigation watering systems on the farm.
To save energy they have converted to LED lighting, have solar geysers, solar borehole pump and good insulation in the roofs.
The unique location between the village and the mountain reserve makes the owners of Kogman & Keisie feel a huge responsibility towards the wildlife & indigenous plants on their land. To this effect they have planted 60 indigenous trees in an effort to create biodiversity corridors through the farm, leading from the nature reserve and connecting with the river. These biodiversity corridors firstly create habitat for bird life, and secondly, pathways for tortoises and other animals.
