iSibindi Zulu Lodge is situated in a private game reserve in the ruggedly beautiful Zululand. An architectural celebration of the Zulu nation, the lodge is a peaceful bushveld retreat which also offers a host of activities for our guests wanting to experience a combination of luxurious accommodation, game-viewing, battlefields and Zulu cultural experiences.
This 12 bed luxury lodge is a stone’s throw away from the historically momentous Anglo-Zulu battlefields of Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana where Zulu and British clashed in a devastating battle which had enormous consequences for the Zulu people. The lodge also offers a choice of authentic Zulu cultural experiences.
Rates are fully inclusive of accommodation, meals, teas & coffees, one daily game drive or walk and a Zulu Boma Dinner on a 2 night stay. Each guest is entitled to 1 of the following on an evening game drive; glass of wine, local beer, cider or soft drink.

The 6 suites are all architecturally inspired by the traditional Zulu beehive shape and have panoramic views of the game reserve and its diverse habitats ranging from montane grassland to riverine forests.
The rooms are individually set along the ridge ensuring ones privacy in this tranquil environment. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and spacious shower, overhead fans and tea & coffee facilities.
The Honeymoon suite overlooks a particularly game rich area of the reserve, and boasts a romantic sunken stone bath.
The main lodge set amongst huge Buffalo Thorn Trees and dolorite boulders boasts a homely lounge with a large fireplace, a unique bar carved out of a Wait-a-Bit Thorn Tree, a library, a privately-set swimming pool and breathtaking views over the game reserve and spacious verandah.
They also pride themselves on continuing to receive numerous accolades on their cuisine and have developed a reputation for a unique presentation of South African Fair. Breakfasts and lunches are either served al fresco at the swimming pool or on the verandah.

Isibindi Zulu Lodge protects and conserves the diverse habitats and abundant indigenous game on the 4000 acre Isibindi Eco-Reserve.
In keeping with their motto “tread gently”, the lodge has been constructed in the most environmentally-friendly manner.
All waste is sorted; glass, metal and paper are recycled, and organic matter is composted.
They are conscientious about using cruelty-free, natural body products and environmentally-friendly cleaning products, and they predominantly use organic ingredients in the cuisine that have been sourced locally.
The Lodge is part of Isibindi Africa Lodges, along with Rhino Post Safari Lodge; Rhino Walking Safaris; Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge; Thonga Beach Lodge and Kosi Forest Lodge. To date, Isibindi Africa Lodges has contributed to and initiated numerous community upliftment projects. It has also developed numerous small ecotourist lodges in pristine areas of South Africa.
